I was ALL OVER the Studio Calico May kit, "35mm", 

[as in hot out of the box & started creating with it]

which so inspired many of the elements in my mini.

Of course, those kits sell out in nano seconds 

but always so inspiring and full of incredible product.

Simple Stories // Mix & Match Album: Week in the Life (Part 2 of 2)

Hop over to the Simple Stories blog for my blog post share up, Part 2 of 2 post for this month to document my "Week-in-the-Life" {Apr 23 - 29}.  It was a pretty monumental & epic week of many emotions, discoveries, feelings...so to process-document-inhale it all, I broke up this blog post into 2 parts.  Wellllllll,  actually, there is a 6x8 Mix & Match design team blog hop happening June 4th and I'll actually bring in a Part 3/BONUS share in that hop because I simply can't share it all up in this post.  But in this share you will see actual completed pages from my album, titled "Eat Pray Love", along with some closeups and creative tidbits that inspired me.  As shared up in Part 2, I used a crazy mix of Simple Stories collections (and bare with me as I develop the supply list for ya...) -- Destinations, Life Documented, Generations, Awesome, Documented, Year.o.graphy...yes, those & moreeee -- but this just proves how amazingggggg how all the collections mix & match so well together!

For now, let's continue & roll on to Part 2 of 2 (aka Part 2 of 3)....

Why did I choose the title, "Eat Pray Love"? Well, first, I absolutely LOVE the book (and the movie), but the movie lacks a bit of the humor & some of the beauty of the actual book. Second, on a personal note (which I usually don't do much in the blog world but I feel it's a big part of sharing this in understanding my journey for this album), I can so relate to Elizabeth's life along many parallels -- divorce from a marriage of 7 years (in my case, a husband who cheated), lost love, a 3 year period of healing, self-discovery, heartache, acceptance, recharging & rediscovering myself emotionally, staying optimistic, finding my strength in prayer, world travel (in my past job as an international auditor), always staying confident, independent, and opening my heart to love again in such a random way of love finding me.  

(and throwing in some good food, makes for a beautiful journey too).

Beautiful.  

So, with that bit of background put out there....I really drew on the quotes from the book that inspired my pages and paved my journey in the "week-in-the-life", so ironically, these quotes transpired into my book after I took the photos....sometimes things work artistically in this way.  Also, to add, I didn't build my album in actual sequence - Day 1, Day 2, etc... - but really dove into the actual journey and not so much focus on the actual days of the week, know what I mean?

Tweaking up a few finishing touches but really lovin' the process of working on the theme inspired from the book, "Eat, Pray, Love"... (so many parallels to my life past & now...)

and there will be a BIG post of my finished album for the Simple Stories 6x8 Blog Hop coming up 6/4!!! :)

I worked on it until 3am this morning....

I was still SOOOOO inspired & mojo on full steam ahead

to keep working & not a bit tired 

but I hit the pillow just to be on the safe side. :)

"All Who Wander Are Lost"

Mini Book

For the cover, I used a trio of butterflies in 3 different textures - wood, paper, and bling. For the bling butterfly, I used the Want2Scrap DSD-Wonderful Wings #LF-006.  For the wood butterfly, I altered it with Clearsnap Colorbox Fluid Chalk.

The pages of the mini are made using Want2Scrap DSD-Designer Embellies-ATC-Chipboard and DSD-Designer Embellies-ATC-Canvas. I altered the pages with papers, inks, stamps, etc....

you know, just a bit of exploration in altering.

Want2Scrap chipboard words are too much fun!

So many altering possibilties - paint, fluid chalk inks (which I used here - Clearsnap Color Box-Fluid Chalk), and you can also make them sparkly, matte, shiny....fun stuff!

I used the a.ma.zing Glue Arts 3-D Cut-It Foam Blanks!

Great to use for making them the size you need for your project

and to add that bit of dimension for some "pop" to your project.

You simply cut them to size for what you need and there's even a little pouch to store the sheets.

The Want2Scrap pearls always steal my heart - mini pearls are my fav!  But I also love these sweet pearl hearts from the Want2Scrap Nestabling Scalloped Heart-White Pearl #S4-137.

I paired the pearl heart on a beautiful doily print paper for a nice vintage and aged touch.

The Glue Arts PermaTac in the GlueGlider Pro is a great rolling adhesive.  I used this adhesive for the flatter elements on my pages.

For the finishing touches to my pages, I used coordinating mini bling, pearls, and lots of colors that worked well with my theme focus and pictures.

Behind-the-Scenes Inspo...

• I was so inspired with this mini for many reasons - mainly for the sunshine & happiness in my life - positive vibes, beautiful memories, the everyday, changes, and very exciting plans for the future.
• All of the Bella Blvd collections are full of color and fun flair and were the perfect palette for developing the title and theme of my mini, "Oh Happy Day".
• I used many printed papers from old & new Bella Blvd collections - just shows how the mix of Bella Blvd flows so well to mix & match across the color palette of collections.

The High Five Alphas from Bella are still my fav crush from the Winter 2012 release.  I would take 20 sheets of each and use them all, seriously. They are perfect for mini projects, cards, ATCs, etc.  I used them on the cover ("Oh Happy Day") for the title as well as throughout the mini ("yum" page, "Italy" page, "E" page, "ROSA" page, "austria" page).

Lovin' the sweet & fun buttons also from the Winter 2012 release - stars and wood snowflake button.

On the page ("hello sun shine"), I drew into more details on this paper with much love for the hot air balloons and adding in some stamped hot air balloons, Bella Blvd Ciao Chip Clouds, sun, and Bella Blvd Icons.

The Miniatures are just the perfect splash also for mini projects - I worked these in on the page "Sledding Adventures".

What's not to love about the fun flags also from the Winter 2012 release? The sweet pearl on the head of the flag, just the perfect touch! ("life is good" page, "sunshine & happiness" page).

Designer tapes are the perfect vintage flair to work with your mini prints (i.e. Instagram photos) ("hit the road Italy" page, "ROSA" page, "you make my world that much brighter" page)

Scraps of paper I used with my punches (i.e. blow off the dust from your punches) along with and torn border stickers to make sweet borders under my pics  ("Love you are the best" page, "E" page, "crazy love" page).

Used my vintage typewriter for quick journaling here & there ("sweet moments quoted" page, "ROSA" page)
